The Luegibrüggli is a uniquely situated restaurant with a terrace directly above Interlaken. The restaurant has a magnificent view of Lake Thun and Lake Brienz and the Jungfrau massif. We had dinner here. The restaurant sits at 938 meters (3077 feet).

We had the chateaubriand for two.
Chateaubriand is a thick, center-cut roast or steak taken from the head or middle of a beef tenderloin, traditionally designed to serve two or more people.
Name: Named after François-René de Chateaubriand, a 19th-century French author and diplomat.
Creation: Credited to his personal chef, Montmireil, around 1822.
Original Method: The meat was originally placed between two lower-quality pieces of beef, which kept the center moist during cooking and were discarded afterward.
The Cut: Sourced from the thickest, most tender part of the beef tenderloin (weighing around 500g to 800g).
Cooking: Usually seared on high heat in a pan and finished in the oven until medium-rare, targeting an internal temperature of about 52°C to 55°C (125°F to 131°F).
Accompaniments: Traditionally served with classic Béarnaise sauce, roasted or duchesse potatoes, and fresh vegetables
The vegetables were: tomatoes, spinach, yellow beams, peas, carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, yellow squash, green beans, zucchini, and mushrooms.
Bearnaise sauce, (sauce made of clarified butter, egg yolk, white wine vinegar, and herbs. It is regarded as a "child" of hollandaise sauce. The difference is in the flavoring: béarnaise uses shallot, black pepper, and tarragon, while hollandaise uses white pepper or a pinch of cayenne.)
Garlic butter
Morel sauce ( rich, creamy, and earthy pan sauce made with morel mushrooms, shallots, white wine, heavy cream, and stock)

The wine was a perfect accompaniment to the meal.
We decided not to have dessert. Wanted to catch the bus instead of waiting another hour.

Here is an interesting fact about the weather in Switzerland this year. For 49 days, the temperature has been over 30 degrees C (86 F). WOW! That's very hot for Switzerland! The humidity is high, too!!
I took bus 21 to Beatenbucht and the funicular from Beatenbucht up to Beatenberg this morning.
Niesen
Due to construction, the bus stop for bus 101 to Beatenberg changed locations but the App didn't show it. I started to walk toward the Interlaken West train station when I heard the boat horn. That meant I just missed taking the boat from Interlaken West to Beatenbucht. A couple minutes later, I caught bus 21 heading toward Thun.
Unfortunately, there wasn't much to see because of where I was seated.
Easier to take a picture of the funicular when it reached the Beatenberg Station.
Today, I did a little walking, not hiking, around the Beatenberg Station.
Beatenberg is at 3678 feet.
I didn't continue up to the top of the Niederhorn. If I did, this would be the transportation up to the top.
Invasive plants
Last year, Gaby, Felix, Michael and I went to the top of the Niederhorn for Sunday brunch. Delicious food and such a spectacular view!!!!
As you can see from the map, the Beatenberg Station isn't even half way up.
The scooter bike for children, might be the big finale, but for adults perhaps it is something different to ride down the mountain on a scooter bike! You choose the tempo yourself, and there are two routes. From Vorsass Mid-Station, you can ride on the scooter bike to Beatenberg Station.
"On Rocky's Run, you travel fast, straight to your destination. Anyone who would like to take it easy, while still wishing to try out a scooter bike for the full experience, goes for Happy's Trail. There is fun to be had and action for everyone on both routes!" This is not for me!!!!
Took the 101 bus back toward the Interlaaken West station but I got off at Stedlizentrum.

A group of school children boarded the bus. They all stood as the bus had filled up before we reached the group.
Surprised the driver allowed them to stand there and didn't say anything. I sat in the front seat, so I could take pictures. There was another boy who stood right next to me. He was following the rule of where he could stand which was behind the barrier. Love a rule follower!!!!!!!

I could see the Sphinx Observatory on the Jungfraujoch.
The Sphinx Observatory is part of the Sphinx Foundation and belongs to Sphinx AG Jungfraujoch, a subsidiary of Jungfraubahn Holding AG. The foundation has full control over the observatory. It consists of an astronomical dome, two large and two small laboratories, a workshop, two terraces for scientific projects, and a weather observation station. The astronomical dome houses a 76 cm (29.9213 in. ) telescope, which is no longer in use. Many long-term projects are installed in the Sphinx laboratories. Space for additional projects and campaigns is available upon request.
It is named after the Sphinx, a rocky summit on which it is located. At 3,571 m (11716 ft ) above mean sea level, it is one of the highest observatories in the world.
