Had a friend who always thought Iseltwald was like a little bit of heaven on earth. He certainly was correct.
Iseltwald is a village and municipality on the southern shore of Lake Brienz.
Iseltwald is first mentioned in 1146 as Iseltwalt.

"During the Middle Ages, a castle was built on the peninsula near the village for the Lords of Matten. In 1146, King Conrad III gave Interlaken Monastery one quarter of the village. Over the following years, the monastery attempted to expand its power in the village. After the Swiss Confederation gained de facto independence from the House of Habsburg, the monastery remained a strong supporter of the Austrian dynasty. The monastery launched several raids into Unterwalden to support Habsburg ambitions. In response, in 1342, troops from Unterwalden attacked and burned Iseltwald. Several years later, in 1348-49, the village unsuccessfully rebelled against the monastery. In 1528, the city of Bern adopted the new faith of the Protestant Reformation and began imposing it on the Bernese Oberland. Iseltwald joined many other villages and the monastery in an unsuccessful rebellion against the new faith. After Bern imposed its will on the Oberland, it secularized the monastery and annexed all the monastery lands. Since 1948, it has been part of the large parish of Gsteig bei Interlaken in Gsteigwiler."
"The traditional local economy relied on fish from Lake Brienz, farming in the valleys, and seasonal alpine herding and farming in the alpine meadows. A glass-blowing factory opened between 1680 and 1696 and operated until 1715. Beginning in 1871, tourists began coming across the lake on steamships. However, there was only one large road into the village until 1988. Today, the local economy is based on tourism, agriculture, fishing, and timber harvesting."

The motor vessel Jungfrau» is decorated with Edelweiss and Enzian which gives this boat its unique character. For banquets and larger family occasions, the ship is perfectly suited for its three salons.

Many of the visitors might be visiting this pretty village because of the Korean Netflix series “Crash Landing on You”, with Son Ye-Jin and Hyun-Bin. Do you want to take a picture on the boat pier too?
In the drama Crash Landing on You, the character Ri Jeong-hyeok (played by Hyun Bin) plays "The Song for My Brother" on the pier.
In-story musician: Ri Jeong-hyeok plays the piece in memory of his older brother, Ri Moo-hyuk.
Composers: The official soundtrack track was composed by Nam Hye-seung and Park Sang-hee.
Key scene: He plays it by a lake in Iseltwald before the events of the main storyline.

Iseltwald is famous worldwide as the main filming location for the hit South Korean television show Crash Landing on You and for its postcard-perfect alpine beauty.

The Famous Pier: The wooden boat jetty on the lake is where the male lead plays a touching piano melody in Crash Landing on You. Fans visit from all over the world to see this spot. Due to heavy crowds, the village introduced a small entry fee to maintain the pier and manage local traffic.
Turquoise Lake Brienz: The village sits directly on the southern edge of Lake Brienz. The water has a bright, glowing blue color because it is fed by glaciers.
Schloss Seeburg: This 19th-century castle sits on a tiny piece of land jutting into the water
. It creates a fairy-tale background for photos, though the inside is private property.
Traditional Swiss Charm: The tiny fishing village features historic wooden chalets, flower boxes on balconies, and narrow paths surrounded by towering mountains.
