We took the train from Interlaken West to Thun. Changed trains and went from Thun to Konolfingen. Switched in Konolfingen to one going to Langnau and after switching in Langnau we took the Kambly train to Trubschachen and the Kambly factory shop.
Spent the day in the Emmental region. The Emmental is a Swiss hilly landscape in the Bernese central land of the Canton of Bern. The landscape is characterized by meadows and pastures. Many hills are largely covered with coniferous forest.
Rich dark soil
This is the region that produces Emmentaler (Swiss) Cheese. The reason why Emmental was rechristened Swiss in the U.S. isn't nefarious; it was just the result of immigration. Wisconsin Cheese says Swiss immigrants started producing cheese in the style of their home country for American consumers in the late 19th century, and its surging popularity led to the rebrand.

The Kambly shop layout
The biscuits come in boxes, bags, and tins.
It all started with the Bretzeli.
"The Kambly Bretzeli has been baked with the same love and care for over 110 years, made according to the original recipe of Oscar Kambly's grandmother. Fresh butter and eggs from the Emmental and flour from the village mill give Switzerland's most popular branded biscuit its incomparable taste."
"Like grandma used to make - Kambly's story began over a hundred years ago with Grandma's Emmental «Bretzeli» biscuits. Settling in Trubschachen to be with his sweetheart, Oscar R. Kambly began to bake Bretzeli for the inhabitants of the valley, using his grandmother's family recipe. Ever since then, we have been producing them according to the original recipe day by day, carefully upholding the high quality and tradition associated with Kambly."
