30 years - 360 months - 10,957 days

September 16, 2019

Michael and I are celebrating our 30th anniversary today.

That is:

30 years or

360 months or

10,957 days or

1,565 weeks and 2 days or

262,968 hours or

15,778,080 minutes or

946,684,800 seconds

Here is to at least 30 more!!!

When we are in Switzerland, we like to spend our anniversary day hiking in Mürren and our evening at Schloss Schadau, Schadau Castle. Nothing could be more perfect!

This was our view from the table at Schloss Schadau.

My favorite view from Winteregg: The Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau

Look for the cable cars.

Looking toward Kleine Scheidegg

Looking up at the Schilthorn.

This trip, I have been intrigued by moss and trees.

Some trees look as if they are starting to change color. It was 81 degrees so it didn't feel like fall.

My grandmother and I picked this variety of mushroom when I was a youngster. Brings back memories.

We could see part of the Niesen from our table at Schadau.

We toasted our 30th anniversary with a glass of champagne.

We decided on the 5 course dinner with wine pairing.

While we looked over the menu, we were served beef slices over yoghurt.

First course paired with a white pinot noir.

Mountain trout caviar with quail egg, buckwheat crisps, butter milk jelly and purple shiso

Shellfish sweetcorn bisque with black tiger prawns and baby corn.

Veal variation from fillet and cheek ragout. Roasted onion mash and deep fried potato dumplings with grainy mustard. Cooked perfectly- medium rare.

Cheese trilogy from Christoph Bruni with fig mustard and fig bread

Blackberry semifreddo with short cake, crème anglaise and blackberry jam

Enjoyed watching the lights of Thun come on. The last lake boat comes in for the night.

It was a spectacular anniversary day!!!
