Today is a rest day, Ruhetag, for us as yesterday was a long day and tomorrow may be one, too.
This morning, we were invited to dinner tonight at Käthi's house in Matten. We have known her for many years, from shopping at the Swiss Made Shop in Wengen. She is now retired.
This is the view from her balcony. Can you see the silhouette of the boat? Could it be the Lötschberg?
I had to point out the boat shape for Michael. No imagination.
This morning, I had the chance to do yesterday's writing from Einsiedeln and the Korean cooking class. Yesterday certainly was a fun day!!!!!!
It is a beautiful day so we went walking around the area. Along the way, we stopped and watched the paragliders come in. Clouds were starting to cover the Jungfrau off in the distance.
We saw Timo at the Holematte. He was taking a lunch break from paragliding. He told us he and Christine is expecting their third baby in a month. Daniela is also flying today.
Clouds are moving in and will soon cover the Jungfrau.
This morning at breakfast, we learned something new about the Victoria Jungfrau Grand Hotel. This was not the first choice of location for the hotel. Originally, they wanted to have it where the Adventure Hostel is now located in Unterseen, as the location has the view of the Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. The owners then did not want to sell their land. So, the Victoria Jungfrau chose the location in Interlaken which only has the view of the Jungfrau.

It was so nice to spend a lovely evening with Käthi. We appreciated and enjoyed her hospitality so much.
We had appetizers and first course looking out toward Schynige Platte and the corner of the Lauterbrunnen Valley.
Käthi then served raclette with gherkins, cucumbers, onions, potatoes and bacon. Raclette is our favorite!!!! Oh, we had a tasty salad, too. For dessert, we had meringues from Meiringen with ice cream and whipped cream which sat atop warm fruit. OMG!!
It was a wonderful way to spend an evening.
